1. The City registration number

Hosts in the City of Los Angeles must display a City Home-Sharing Registration Number on every listing, and it should match the address. Registrations are for the host's primary residence and are limited to 120 days a year unless extended.

2. Permits and recent work

Permit history shows what has been built or changed at the address and whether it was finished.

3. Hazard maps

Check flood, fire, earthquake fault, liquefaction, landslide and tsunami zones. Near the coast, tsunami and flood zones can matter.

4. The Coastal Zone
