Check an Airbnb or Vrbo in Los Angeles before you book
Know before you book
Booking on Airbnb, Vrbo or any other site means paying for a place you have not seen. The Stay Check gives you the City of Los Angeles records for the address first, so you book with peace of mind.
What is in a Stay Check
- Registration check: whether the City shows the home as registered for short term rental, and whether the listing number matches the address.
- Safety and surroundings: nearby police report counts, plus fire, flood, earthquake and landslide zone checks.
- Property record: permits, inspections, zoning and County Assessor facts.
- Review reading tips: a short checklist for reading listing reviews.
Price and timing
The Stay Check is $12.99. The full report unlocks right away. The registration result is emailed within 2 business days. A report alone is $7.99, and a pack of 3 reports is $17.99.
What Deedlore does not do
Deedlore does not read or copy listings from Airbnb, Vrbo or any other site, and it is not affiliated with them. You supply the address and the registration number from the listing. Deedlore describes properties, not people, and does not check hosts.

Common questions
Is the Stay Check a guarantee?
No. It summarizes public records as of the date shown and may be incomplete. It is not legal advice or a guarantee that a stay will be safe or good.
Can I get a refund?
See the Terms page for the refund and cancellation wording.
I am staying a month or longer. Do I need it?
Stays advertised for 30 nights or more are exempt from the City home sharing rules, so the full report is the check that matters, at $7.99.
